(Camellia japonica)
Used in the traditional beauty rituals of Japanese women, Tsubaki grows on Jeju Island. On this sublime Korean island blooms the pretty bright flowers of the Japanese Camellia.
Sporting shades between pure white and dark red, its flowers are used, like its emerald green leaves, in the art of flower arrangement.
Tsubaki symbolises the arrival of spring with the birth of its fruits forming small round capsules. The plant’s treasure is extracted from its seeds: its oil, dry to the touch, with a sweet hazelnut smell.
