Sesame
(Sesamum indicum)
A large tropical herbaceous plant, Sesame is native to Asia.
Its yellow, white or pink flowers are speckled with purple. Its fruits are similar to small capsules with a short beak that hide thin, smooth seeds. Sesame has been cultivated for more than five millennia for its small oilseeds with creamy white or black hues.
A symbol of fertility and immortality in India, Sesame is as delicious as it is beneficial for the skin.
